New Scalextric May 2009 Releases Ferrari F430 GT2, Ford GT40, and Speed Stars
Hornby Hobbies limited is scheduled to release in the U.S. two new individual 1:32 scale endurance racing style slot cars and one slot car race track during mid May 2009. The slot cars are the Ferrari F430 GT2 in Escuderia Ecosse livery part number C3012, and the Ford GT40 Gold #4 1966 part number C3026. The new 1:32 scale slot car track is the Speed Stars oval part number C1243t. The latter itself comes with two high performance street racing slot cars in new liveries: Lamborghini Gallardo in blue and Porsche 911 GT3R in red.
The new Ferrari F430 GT Escuderia Ecosse, a product of Mattel’s Hot Wheels Ferrari branding license, is a Digital Plug Ready analog model easily convertible to Scalextric Sport Digital with the insertion of the EasyFit Digital Plug part number C8515. This model also comes with xenon-effect headlights, working rear lights, magnatraction, and easy change pick-ups. The new Ford GT40 Gold #4 is an analog model with xenon-effect headlights, magnatraction, and easy change pick-ups.
The Speed Stars slot car track is an 11 foot overall oval containing two Digital Plug Ready super-resistant body slots cars for high-impact racing. The Lamborghini Gallardo and Porsche 911 GT3R included also are easily convertible to Scalextric Sport Digital with the EasyFit Digital Plug. The track set is a very basic setup designed for kids ages 5 and up, but it too can be converted to digital operation with the addition of a digital transformer, lane changer, and digital hand controllers.
NOTE 1: Hornby Hobbies announced that it will not be producing the Aston Martin DBR9 part number C2903 as the Aston Martin DBR9 Gulf part number C2960 was instead produced.
NOTE 2: Hornby Hobbies also announced that it has discontinued producing the Kimi Raikonnen Ferrari F1 2008 part number C2989 in the 2009 product range.
